OOPS, WE ARE RETURNING TO THE FAR END SURF HOUSE AGAIN…

We know we said it was the last time at The Far End Surf House, but we just love the venue, the garden, the team and the surroundings too much. Especially with the new yoga deck!

We felt our retreat this May was so special. Our dream rollerskate team, Jodie and Hilde. And the magic combination of Lieneke and Nicky’s breathwork, somatics, ecstatic dance and yoga. So we are doing it AGAIN.

And we would love to have our returning guests back, so we are giving you a month to pre-book this retreat, because you already know the magic.

Six days in Portugal: a playful journey to (re)connect with your inner child, move freely, make new female friends and explore the beauty of the Portuguese coast.

EXPERIENCES

  • ROLLERSKATE

All levels and types of skaters are welcome during this retreat. The workshops will take place at a concrete football field in town, or in a parking space if it’s too hot or raining. On the excursion to Santa Cruz we will visit skate spots to skate right next to the beach.

This is our retreat with the most personal attention, as Hilde will be focusing on beginner rollerskaters and Jodie on intermediate/advanced skaters, so no matter your level you will fit right in. Always wanted to try out skating but don’t have skates yourself? Don’t worry, we can rent rollerskates for you. There will be 3 rollerskate workshops, but also a lot of free time to skate by yourself.

  • SOUND

We’re so happy Lieneke will be joining us for the third time, guiding sound and breathwork journeys with her handpan. By now we know how powerful and transformative these sessions can be, deep meditative soundscapes that help you release and just be. Alongside this we’ll have ecstatic dance sessions, a chance to move freely, shake things loose and let your body express whatever it needs to. No steps to learn, no right way to do it, just movement and sound as a way home to yourself.

  • SOMATICS

There are daily morning and evening yoga, meditation and breathwork classes included in this retreat. Our foundation is yoga, so you can expect different styles like Slow Flow, Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Alongside this, we bring in somatic and embodied flow practices, working with movement and body awareness in a way that goes beyond the physical shapes of yoga. These classes will help you prepare and restore for your other physical adventures, but will also be an invitation to dive deeper into self awareness, calm your nervous system and take yoga beyond the physical practice.

  • PERSONAL GROWTH

This break from your daily life is the perfect moment to dive inward, and become more aware of your inner world. This time in our safe and welcoming community will help you to rediscover your authentic self through different yoga, meditation and breath work techniques, as well journal workshops and other mindfulness practices. We invite you to become aware of what you need to let go of, and what you want to invite in more to step into your true potential.

Genuinely one of the best holidays I’ve ever been on, with a package so unique that I honestly thought it was as scam when I first came across the advert, because it sounded too perfect to be true!

Definitely not a scam though, Nicky and her wonderful team are the most authentic, lovely people and the trip was brilliant from start to finish. It was so well thought-out. The pace was perfect, no rushing around of time to chill around the pool as well as learn new skills. The yoga, skating, breathwork and sound workshops were all led so well by Nicky, Jodie, Hilde, and Leineke, and the surf lesson was great fun.

Far End Surf House is an amazing place to stay, too. Aarti and his team looked after us well with delicious food and clean, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting.

The best bit by far about this retreat though was the incredible group of women - organisers and guests. I was one of the eldest in the group (late 40s) so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but we all got on so well and had so much fun, as well as sharing together in the workshops and learning lots about ourselves. I’ve made friends for life from all over the world thanks to Nicky and I’m so grateful! If anyone is thinking of doing one of these retreats just book it - it’s well worth the money!

Just finished the Inner Space Retreats Skate & Yoga retreat in Portugal which was honestly a life changing experience. The retreat was so thoughtfully planned, and had the perfect combination of nature, play, movement, reflection and rest through roller skating, yoga, breathwork, sound, surfing and more.

As a relatively new roller skater I was a little bit nervous, but the group had a great mix of experiences and everyone was so kind and willing to help and learn from one another, which allowed me the safe space to be challenged and have fun.

Everything from the accommodation to the food to the workshops and activities blew me away.

So grateful to Nicky and her wonderful team - as well as the amazing group of women who joined - for such a special experience 🦋

Well, I cannot really express how great this retreat was to not sound like a cheap seller... but I try to give you as honest review as possible, after my emotions being calmed and I had few days to ground myself after this retreat:

    This was gorgeous event!!!!!!!!!!!

    What is like:
+organizer's knowledge and attitude were formidable!
    +girls group -OMG!!!!♡♡♡
    +house 11/10 (The Far End)
+hosts -are you people even real?!?! (The Far end)
+great time schedule and no pressure around it (WOW)

What i don't like (unfortunately not depending on the organizer's...):
    -too short holidays

    Thank you.

P.S. I was there with my friend and we are not super young, and on top of that we have had our rollerskates first time on our feet at this very retreat, ....and it worked!!

10 out of 10! Nicky and her team of collaborators with Inner Space Retreats have given me an unforgettable gift with this experience. I returned home about a week ago and I keep telling people: "not to be dramatic but...this retreat changed me as a person.’’

It was my first retreat and at age 37, I went into the week feeling nervous and overwhelmed, but open and curious. I remember thinking to myself, 'oh, it's fine. If I feel too overstimulated / unregulated and really need to, I can leave early.' Well, I am here to report that I am already OFFICIALLY booked in for next year!

I came out of the Inner Space retreat with a full heart (crying my eyes out in all the best ways), actually EXTENDING my stay at the venue that felt like a second home (Far End Surf House), and have been reflecting and reminiscing on the retreat like it's my full time job ever since. I mean, group meals, yoga and nidra before bed? WOW YES.

I was toooootally the crier of the group which, for someone who simply could NOT physically cry for over a decade, this was actually a huge win for me. It felt like an absolute glimmer of a highlight to feel safe enough to BE. To feel poured into and mirrored in a way that actually allowed me to relax, surrender, and fully express myself in ways I truly didn't realize I needed (or even existed within me at all- hello, inner child workshop). The silly, the safety, the skills, the spotlight! All of it welcomed, honoured, and celebrated. The intentionality poured into the experience does not go unnoticed.

Rollerskating was also such a dream. Not only did we get several wildly fun lessons in unique and stunning locations, but we had the most brilliant instructor, Patrizia, break things down just for you, regardless of your level. I am a super beginner level but I never felt intimidated, only supported and cheered on. This was HUUUUGE and really boosted my confidence to go out and find the skate babes in my local area.

I will never forget the magic of Portugal: June, 2025. It has lit a fire within that I'll only be able to report back on after next year's version. ;)
